We know that that liberation of all of us will not happen until Black womxn are free. The purpose of Rest Is… to embody the theories of today’s Black Feminists such as dr. yaba blay, Tricia Hersey, Sonya Renee Taylor and adrienne maree brown in stating that rest is not only resistance, but rest, for Black womxn, girls and femmes, IS revolution. This inaugural event will offer space for us to teach, learn, model and practice how we rest in our work. Upon our return, it is our contention that we will be equipped to translate, code and decode our experiences and learnings into our professional spaces. Like our foremothers have taught us, we must position ourselves to give from our overflow. Rest Is…seeks to position us to do just that.

What is this retreat about?

Helping womxn learn how to be selfish with caring for themselves, setting boundaries and learn to rest in our liberation work.
What will I be doing in this retreat?

We will be HEALING! Activities may include but are not limited to rituals, eating clean, building with like minded folks, walks/hikes, community care workshops, turning up and lots of other fun activities.
