SUMMARY:An Exploration of the Koshas: A Retreat to Nourish Every Layer of Your Being
DESCRIPTION:The Koshas in yoga represent the different layers of our being. We can picture the Koshas as Russian nesting dolls\, each representing a part of the self that contributes to who we are as humans. The aim is to take care of every layer of who we are in order to release energy blockages and stagnation. When we do so\, we can show up as our true authentic selves. Note that the nesting dolls start with the outer layer and move inwards. These layers are: \n\nOur physical body\,\nOur energy (including our breath and energetic self)\,\nOur thoughts and emotions (otherwise known as our ego)\,\nOur wisdom\, and\nOur soul.\n\nThis retreat will offer guidance on how to relate to each aspect of our being in a productive and empowering way. It will offer tools to enable us to show up in life with more presence\, intention\, and direction. \n \n\n\nWhen we don’t take care of ourselves in the present\, it is impossible to be the person we want to be. If we are exhausted\, overwhelmed or don’t take time out for ourselves\, we are just a shell of who we are and it is challenging to find ways to regulate ourselves and stay calm in triggering moments. The more we push our own needs aside\, the harder it is to be in relationships with others without resentment bubbling to the surface from feeling so overloaded and unanchored. \nIn the process\, we may need to release what doesn’t serve us: stress and tension\, dysregulation\, overwhelm\, exhaustion\, a sense that we have to do it all\, and our conditioning from childhood. In losing some of these “toxic” aspects of life\, we can find the space to come back to who we truly are through well-deserved self-care and attention to ourselves. When we offer ourselves permission to find moments for ourselves to re-energize and reconnect with ourselves\, we can show up and respond to life and others in our life with more intention\, feeling more like ourselves. When we feel more connected to who we are\, it is easier to engage our compassionate\, patient\, and kinder self with our interactions with both ourselves and others. \nIn this retreat\, we will journal\, workshop\, practice yoga\, breathe and meditate\, hike\, eat nourishing plant-based food\, and immerse ourselves in nature. This is an opportunity to reset\, find awareness about our needs and how to fulfill them\, and to connect more deeply with our true self\, so that we can show up in life from a space of more heart-centeredness. \n\n\n\nTentative schedule: \nFriday: A Focus on the Physical Body\n3pm Check-in\n4pm Opening Circle – an overview of the Koshas and how they can help us\n6pm Dinner\n7.30pm Workshop on the Physical Body – learning to accept and love the vessel that we live in\n8.30pm Slow Yoga Flow \nSaturday: A Focus on the Energetic Body (Breathing\, Thinking\, and Emotional Layers)\n8am Yoga with a Focus on Our Breath – using out breath to guide our energy\n9.15am Breakfast\n10.30am Workshop on the Ego – understanding our thinking mind and cultivating a healthy relationship with it\n11.30 Hike to the River/Waterfall\n1pm Lunch\n6pm Dinner\n7.30pm Bonfire and Movement – burning away what no longer serves us\n8.30pm Breathwork – witness\, understand\, and experience our emotions \nSunday: A Focus on our Wisdom and Soul\n8am Laughter Yoga – finding joy in being in the present and connecting with our silliness\n9.15am Breakfast (in silence*)\n10.30am Hike (in silence*)\n11.30am Free time with ourselves (in silence without cell phones*)\n1pm Lunch\n2pm Workshop on How to Live from the Heart \n3pm Closing Circle and Meditation\n4/5pm Depart\n*We will engage in a few hours of silence to practice connecting with ourselves and to get comfortable being with and accepting ourselves as we are. \n  \n\nDaniella Gould is Owner and Instructor of Santosa Yoga and Health based in San Juan\, Puerto Rico. She holds a MA in Asian Studies from UC Berkeley\, is RYT 200\, Y12SR (addiction recovery)\, and breathwork certified. She has also attended multiple trainings\, including on trauma\, resilience\, self-regulation\, inner child work\, parenting\, social justice\, meditation\, and mindfulness. \nDaniella has applied yoga philosophy to many facets of her own life. It has changed how she views and relates to herself\, her husband\, and her son in such a transformative way that she loves to share the practical benefits of yoga\, meditation\, breathwork\, and yoga philosophy with others. \nFor Daniella\, yoga is about connecting people with their bodies and breath in order to quiet the noise and distractions that often accompany our hectic lives. She loves to help students apply yoga philosophy to their lives in a practical\, understandable way. Ultimately\, she thinks that yoga allows us to find contentment and satisfaction\, making it easier to navigate life’s challenges. \nShe enjoys working with students of all levels\, and believes that everyone can benefit from yoga\, meditation\, breathing practices\, and yoga philosophy regardless of flexibility and/or experience. She teaches with humor and playfulness\, and she aims to make all students feel welcome and at ease in a supportive\, safe space. \nDaniella has taught retreats in a number of locations\, but Casa Grande is her favorite space-to-date to take people on transformative journeys.

SUMMARY:Re-Parent Your Inner Child: A Retreat of Self-Awareness and Healing
DESCRIPTION:This retreat will offer a safe space in which to reflect on your childhood\, however supported or unsupported it may have been. It will guide you to be curious about how your adult life today is influenced\, and sometimes sabotaged\, by those experiences. It will introduce you to your inner child: the part of you that was wounded during your childhood and that is reactive when it is triggered. It will offer you the skills both to recognize what was positive about your childhood\, and to re-parent yourself in the ways that you wished you had been parented. When you listen to and soothe your inner child\, when you connect to the child you once were\, you can allow your thoughts and actions to come from an adult space of calm rather than from an inner child’s space of hurt and lashing out. \nWhen we experience trauma (including what some might consider small\, inconsequential traumas) and when we don’t process them effectively\, we become more fragmented in ourselves. We create survival methods that protect ourselves from more harm\, yet in the process\, parts of us may get suppressed\, compartmentalized\, or taken advantage of. This retreat seeks to help you reunite your fragmented pieces so that you can embrace the whole you! \nBefriending your inner child and re-parenting it may sound strange\, but it can help you navigate the world more smoothly\, including all of your relationships\, be it with your parents\, family\, friends\, partner\, children\, or even with yourself. It can also support you to live life from a more balanced space\, with more confidence\, joy\, self acceptance\, and compassion. \nThroughout this retreat\, we will practice yoga – including movement\, meditation\, breathwork\, and yoga philosophy\, such as the concept of svadhyaya\, or self study – to guide us through this journey. \n  \nTentative Retreat Schedule:\n\nFriday\n3pm Check-in and relax\n4pm Opening Ceremony – meet your inner child and understand why this work is key to improving your life\n5pm Dinner\n8pm Reflection Workshop – be curious about your childhood\, both the positives and the challenges.\, and find awareness about which of your needs went unmet. End the night with a slow yoga practice. \nSaturday\n8am Yoga and Pranayama (yoga breathing) – breathe and stretch with your inner child!\n9am Breakfast\n10am Compassion\, Validation\, and Acceptance Workshop – befriend and listen to your inner child through journaling\nNoon Lunch\n1pm Curiosity – explore your inner child’s playfulness and creativity including creative mandala project and river exploration\n5.00pm Dinner\n7pm Transformation and Metamorphosis Workshop – let go of patterns in which you have got stuck through a fire dance ceremony followed by breathwork \nSunday\n8am Yoga and Mantra Chanting – as you hold space and soothe your inner child\n9am Breakfast\n10am Re-parent Your Inner Child Workshop – be the parent you always needed\, supporting your inner child in a way that transforms your life and makes your inner child feel unconditionally loved and safe through role-playing and journaling\nNoon Lunch\n3pm Closing Ceremony – reflection on what we have learned and a final meditation\n5pm Depart \n\nDaniella Gould is Owner and Instructor of Santosa Yoga and Health based in San Juan\, Puerto Rico. SUMMARY:Reclaiming My Voice and Roots Reconnecting with Soul and Ancestral Wisdom
DESCRIPTION:Reclaiming My Voice And Roots helps women and femmes of color struggling to find their voice by releasing their emotional wounds and restoring connection with intuition\, soul\, and ancestral wisdom to journey life feeling more empowered and grounded in who they are.\n  \nDear loving BIPOC community\, healing from the emotional scars living inside you\, \nSo much of our journey is about finding our voice. We often lose our voice early in life\, when we are silenced through painful childhood experiences. \nSometimes this happens at home. \nOftentimes we learn to silence ourselves from the systems and toxic environments we grow in.  \nWe are told and shown that our words don’t matter. \nOur feelings don’t matter. Our bodies don’t matter. \nThe historical trauma in our lineages has created legacies \nof wounding passed down the generations. \nOur ancestral grief follows us like a shadow. \nIt is both an individual and collective grief. \nA grief so heavy that we cannot hold by ourselves. \nWe begin to feel disconnected to our roots\, our soul\, and our intuition. \nWe grow further and further away from our truest nature.  \nDoes this sound familiar?  Is this part of your story? \nLove\, we need you to know that you’re not broken.  \nBut you may hold within your heart burdens of shame and people-pleasing. \nYou might struggle with being vulnerable and trusting others\, including yourself. \nKnow that your healing journey is liberation work.  \nIt is reclaiming what was taken from you and was your birthright. \nFeeling safe in your body\, owning your power\, your connection to Soul\, \nancestors\, your voice\, your Self-trust and love. \nThis is YOURS. It was always Yours.  \nIt’s time to retrieve all that has been lost and taken from you. \nAre you ready to reclaim your voice\, your roots\, and finally see ALL of you? \n  \nWe have curated something so beautifully special\, and we’re putting so much heart\, love\, and soul into this offering just for you.In this retreat\, we’ll guide you into your inner world and help you witness what lives within you. You will connect with different parts of you\, practice holding yourself with compassion\, and talk about your undigested grief\, including the grief of being uprooted from your ancestral land. \nYou’ll have the experience of being loved\, held\, and cared for by our group. \nWe will take daily walks on the hiking trails\, visit the natural river with waterfalls\, build community as we’re swimming in the saltwater pool\, sit around the fire\, laugh\, dream and set our intentions together. \nWe will engage in rituals and ceremonies to help us collectively release internalized messages\, shame\, and pain from our inner child and from our lineages. \nWe will work toward reclaiming and reconnecting more to our roots because when we feel more grounded and rooted in who we are\, we embody soul energy. We fully embrace our voice and power. We give ourselves permission to take up space again and reclaim what is ours. \n\n\nWill you join us? \nWill you be part of this community of grounded and connected BIPOC women and femmes fully embracing our voice and power? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis retreat is for you- \nWomen and Femmes of Color \n\n  \n\n\n\n\n✅ If you struggle with people-pleasing\, shrinking yourself\, or speaking up. ✅ If you’re feeling shame and loneliness. ✅ If you’re needing the space to grieve the loss of connection to your Soul\, land\, and ancestors. ✅ If you’re afraid to be vulnerable\, be seen by others\, or fear seeing yourself. ✅ If you have a hard time setting boundaries. ✅ If you feel guilty taking up space and caring for your needs. ✅ If you’re uncomfortable receiving love\, or scared to love. ✅ If you’re wanting to heal your relationship with your inner child(ren). ✅ If you’re tired of always being the “strong one” and pushing through everything. ✅ If you’re wanting to build community with other women and femmes of color on the journey toward reclaiming. ✅ If you’re of the Boricua diaspora and are trying to deepen your connection to your roots.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur retreat days together will begin co-regulating with nature as we greet the morning\, walk through the trails and take in the love of the mountain valley. We will spend our time together in community\, courageous conversation and both inner and collective processes. \nWe will make space for rituals\, including grief rituals and that of reconciliation. We will travel inside and work to see ourselves more.We will see and hold each other more too.\nAt the end of our days\, we will continue building together. So much of healing really is about doing it in community. Connection\, both inside and out\, is the antidote to stress responses from trauma. Our intention really is to co-create and facilitate a sacred space that feels loving to everyone in it. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nThe journey will also include: \n\nA community-based group chat (WhatsAPP) to foster connection with each other before and after the retreat\nPre-retreat group call: tentatively scheduled for TBA\nPost-retreat group calls: 2 monthly calls to help integrate what was revealed in the in-person retreat and into your day-to-day life. They will be on TBA
